Decriminalize Psilocybin Michigan is working on decriminalizing psilocybin around the state of Michigan. Working at the local and statewide levels, DPMI educates community members on how to organize and educate their local governments. Decriminalization is important for open and affordable access, and DPMI uses a model that's been successful in over 15 municipalities around the country.

Fasting for at least a couple hours is usually recommended. This helps with quicker onset and an easier time digesting them. Some people fast up to twelve hours, and some will eat a light meal a couple hours before they trip. Some people even swear by eating something alongside them. Some don't eat meat or dairy for a few days before. Even abstaining from meat and dairy the day of will help them get into your system easier.
Chewing will take bit longer to kick in, and the experience will last a bit longer. They've been dehydrated to help preserve them, so you'll need to drink plenty of water to process them. Stomach discomfort can come from swallowing them without chewing, or from eating them on a full stomach. Eating a banana or two can help with stomach discomfort as well.
Grinding or crushing them up ahead of time can help ease digestion. Soaking them in cold water can also help rehydrate them and make them easier on the system.
Capsules make microdosing simple, and help to preserve ground mushrooms. Since the mushrooms are already ground, once the capsules break open, they'll be quickly digested. If you want to macrodose (or microdose) with capsules, sometimes eating too much capsule material can be unecessary or can delay digestion. You can simply empty the capsules into a smoothie, tea, or other food.
Tea will activate a bit quicker, and leave your system a bit quicker as well. Make sure not to heat the mushrooms past approximately 160 °F (ideally no more than 150 °F). It's usually recommended to make tea first, and then add the mushrooms in after it cools. You can add other supplements like lion's mane to tea as well.
Edibles have ground mushrooms mixed evenly throughout. They can also be a bit easier to digest than chewing them whole. There are also edibles (like gummies and certain baked goods) made with acidic extractions (Lemon Tek) or alcohol extractions. Edibles made with raw cacao will be a bit stronger because of the natural acidity found in unprocessed cocoa. Cacao contains numerous active compounds and nutrients that help stimulate the brain's production of neurotransmitters and neuro-modulators. Psilocybin does the same, so these two usually interact quite nicely.
Lemon Tek is the easiest on digestion. It makes the mushrooms 1.5x to 2x stronger, so adjust your dose accordingly. See below for more detailed information on this method.
Smoothies can be made out of any of the above. Just keep in mind what you're ingesting; heavier foods like peanut butter and dairy can slow down the trip a bit while your body digests them. Fruits and vegetables can help hydrate and potentiate.

Local Decriminalization

The Jackson, MI City Council will be voting on a resolution to decriminalize all plant medicines. If you're local, then folks are invited to join the meeting in person. Speaking spots can be signed up for right before the meeting. If you're not local, you can watch live on Youtube. Simply showing up in support is incredibly impactful.
